The foundation was established by Dr. Gert M. Frank in 2025 to support people with mental illness.
Due to the long ordeal of a family member suffering from schizophrenia, Dr. Frank has been confronted with the challenges faced by people with mental illness for many years. Prejudice, a lack of information about available support, social exclusion, the lack of direct assistance, difficulties in obtaining financial support from health insurance providers, and the continuing shortage of effective medications complicate the recovery process and often lead to suicide among those affected.
Against this backdrop, Dr. Gert M. Frank founded LIMES Schlosskliniken AG in 2015 to improve the situation of people with mental illnesses.
In parallel with the clinic’s operations, the Dr. Gert M. Frank Foundation pursues exclusively and directly charitable and benevolent purposes. The foundation operates selflessly and aims to support individuals who, due to their physical, mental, or emotional condition, are dependent on the help of others. Furthermore, the foundation promotes research and science in the field of mental illness.
